Side Streets

Side streets within the downtown area are east to west directional streets that cross the arterial streets such as Brooks Street (click!), Main Street (click!), Gould Street (click!) and Scott-Broadway (click!) that run north to south. Enhancements to these areas will be phased in conjunction with arterial streets when plausible. Otherwise, these enhancements will be implemented in conjunction with upgrade decisions by the City of Sheridan. The streetscape treatment for each of these cross streets will coincide with the arterial streets adjacent to each side street section and throughout its overall length through the downtown area. Due to the centralized: theme and unity of the streetscape enhancements proposed for the downtown area, this task can be accomplished without significant transition areas. Streetscape enhancements proposed for typical cross streets include colored concrete sidewalk at intersections; neck-downs at selected intersections; trees; miscellaneous landscaping; and colored/textured crosswalks at select intersections.
