Organization
Building
consensus and cooperation among the many groups and individuals who
have a role in the revitalization process.
The Downtown Sheridan Association strives to build
partnerships within the community to create a consistent
revitalization program and to effective management and leadership of
the downtown. This effort includes maintaining a not-for-profit
organization, fund raising activities and constant development of
volunteers. Membership in the DSA involves bringing together the
concerns of various groups that have a stake in the downtown district:
merchants, bankers, property owners, Chamber of Commerce, civic groups
and city government.
Both public and private sectors must share in
downtown revitalization. Their efforts must reinforce each other
through an effective organization such as the Downtown Sheridan
Association.
